About SEND at St John’s Academy
At St John’s Church of England Academy we are fully committed to meeting the needs of those pupils with Special Educational Needs so far as is reasonably practicable and compatible with the provision of the efficient education of all pupils.
St John’s Church of England Academy provides a broad and balanced curriculum for all children.
The National Curriculum is our starting point for planning that meets the specific needs of individuals and groups of children. When planning, teachers plan to teach to all learning styles and set suitable learning challenges and respond to children’s diverse learning needs. Some children have barriers to learning that mean they have special needs and require particular action by the school. Children may have special educational needs either throughout or at any time during their school career.
By working as a team with parents, pupils and staff we aim to provide the best possible learning environment for all children, including those with SEND.
