Today is World Mental Health Day, which is why the children are so bright this morning! We had a wonderful Good News Worship and I've finally got round to posting a picture of the Harvest Donations being collected by the Salvation Army. Happy Friday everyone.

Just a reminder that St John's will be taking part in world Mental Health Day tomorrow, Friday 10th October in support of the Young Minds Hello Yellow campaign. The theme is " Wear it Loud, Wear it Proud".

The children are invited to wear something yellow and will be taking part in activities to support mental health and emotional wellbeing . Please do not something specially for the occasion as the children can make something yellow through the day.

Our mental health practitioner- Angie Robinson will also be coming into school next Friday morning and is available after assembly at 9.30 to speak to any parents/carers who have any concerns about their child's emotional wellbeing.

Young Minds have several resources for parents and carers to find help and advice, if you’re ever concerned about a child or young person – you can find this on their website: www.youngminds.org.uk/parent.

Thank you to all our families who donated for the Harvest Festival. The donations have now been collected by the Salvation Army and we received the email below:

Dear St John's academy,

On behalf of Darlington Salvation Army I (Mr) Adam Silcock would like to thank you all, staff and students, for your amazing support with your harvest donations. Our team of volunteers attempted to count your donations, but we got lost after counting over 400+ items.

All of these items will be used in sharing love and hope with the less fortunate by supporting them with things they can't normally afford including the essential food we all need. In doing this we share not only our love but God's love too, so thank you all for making it possible for us to share his love from each and every one of you.
