At St John’s, we take pride in being a welcoming and inclusive school, creating a sense of family within our community. Our primary focus is on providing an excellent education while nurturing each child’s individual potential. We believe that every child, regardless of their background, can achieve excellence.

Our school is dedicated to offering a safe and positive environment where children feel valued, heard, and cared for. Christian values form the foundation of our approach, guiding everything we do. We emphasise strong partnerships with parents and carers, viewing them as essential contributors to their children’s education. We look forward to regular opportunities to connect, celebrate successes, discuss progress, and explore how families can engage in their child’s learning journey.

Supported by dedicated Academy Councillors, leading our committed team of staff who work to provide the best possible education for our pupils is a privilege. We are proud to serve the local community and represent the families that make our school unique. In the midst of ongoing changes, our mission remains the same – ‘Trust in God, Trust Yourself. Aspire, Believe, Achieve!’

CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH WEEK

Next week we are taking part in Children’s Mental Health Week. The theme this year is “This is my place”.

We know that our sense of belonging as individuals, in our friendships, in school, and in communities plays a vital role in our mental health and wellbeing.

To know our place and really feel part of our environment is a basic human need. It can have powerful and long-lasting impacts in lots of areas of our lives, including our physical and mental health, education, employment and relationships. When we feel that we belong, it empowers us to contribute to the world and make a real difference.

At St John’s CE Academy, we aim to create inclusive and nurturing environment where children, staff and families feel they belong and can say "This is My Place".

As parents and carers, you play an important role in your child’s mental health. Please see the link below to the Place 2 Be website which has some excellent resources and tips for carers and activities to do with your children. The children are welcome to bring any work or activities they have done at home into school to share.

We hope to see as many of families as possible at our Family Night on Monday from 3.30 - 4.30pm to take part in fun activities together.
