At St John’s, our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. Our students’ views and opinions matter and is shown throughout our school, giving our pupils the opportunity to actively guide their primary school experience.
Our school councillors pride themselves on the active role they take within the day-to-day life of the school. The School Council is made up of two children from each year group in Key Stage 2. These pupils have been elected by their peers to represent the view points of all pupils within the school and meet regularly with our headteacher, Mr Ramsay.
Our Head Boy, Head Girl and deputies were voted by pupils to represent St John’s. They spoke in front of the school to say why they were the most suitable for the role and shared their vision to make St John’s an even better place. Our student leadership team speak to visitors, help with parents/carers evening and are impeccable role models that our younger pupils look up to.
Our House Team Captains are pupils in Year 6 who are chosen to represent their house team. Their role includes supporting pupils in their team and being an impeccable role model. Every Friday, they arrange a team to take part in the House Games during lunchtime.
Our OPAL Leaders help manage an area during lunchtime and have the responsibility of leading activities, keeping the area tidy and have the opportunity to put their own stamp on the area by liaising with lunchtime staff and pupils to continuously improve our OPAL provision.
